About the Artist
Clara van den Hout, a visual artist, was educated at Ars Aemulae Naturae in Leiden, the Academy for Visual Arts 'Nola Hatterman' in Paramaribo, Suriname and graduated in 1998 from the School of the Arts in Kampen.
Her work consists of paintings and objects, as well installations and photography. She stated that her work comes from a sense of chaos, where images and thoughts emerge in and around her.
"What is Important to me is the present, the time in which I live. I like to experiment in material and expression."
In addition to working as an artist, Clara gives courses in painting to adults and organizes painting workshops for companies.
